Burn Your StumbleUpon Feed!
May 8th, 2008 by admin
In my recent post, “Sexy Article Marketing On Heat!“, I told you to use the feeds from your Article Directory Accounts such as EzineArticles.com to pull in more traffic.
If you’re going to do the hard work of writing articles, you want to get the most from them … so where possible, grab the feed addresses and add them to your Feedburner account! Feedburner will ping updates to your feeds (ie: your articles) to lots of directories automatically … using Feedburner will get you lots more subscribers than you would with an unburned feed!
Once you’ve burn’t your feeds, I really recommend you submit the unburnt feed and the burnt feed to as many RSS Feed directories as possible … the more directories you submit to, the more chances there are for subscribers to find you!
I use a tool to automate the submission of my RSS feeds, it’s called RSS Submit. This isn’t an affiliate link, I’m just recommending the software … it’s around $60, but you can submit multiple feeds to around 60 - 70 directories in seconds! If you’re a serious blogger you should take a look…
So on to todays topic … StumbleUpon.com …
Stumbling is really addictive … when you sign up, which is free, you select categories or subjects that interest you, and then once you’ve installed the toolbar, you click on the stumble icon, and it randomly shows you a web page that fits the categories you’ve chosen … all the pages have been recommended or given the “thumbs up” by other members … you see some great pages you’d never have found on your own … the trouble is it becomes addictive!
Now when you give a page the thumbs up, you can add a review at the same time … the review is added to your personal StumbleUpon blog …
So to the important bit from a Marketer’s perspective … if you Stumble and Review some of your own pages with the appropriate tag (keyword), it will be shown to other people … how many other people will depend on how appealing your web page is and how many thumbs ups it receives … it also depends on how many friends you make in the StumbleUpon community … as your recommendations will be shown to them, and if they thumb it up, it will in turn be shown to their friends … so make some friends on StumbleUpon in the niches your interested in.
So back to the point of this blog. If you stumble the best of your own posts and web pages in between recommending other pages from other sites, your own page reviews will appear on your own blog and therefore on your StumbleUpon feed … so do the same with your StumbleUpon feed … burn it and submit to the feed directories … you do the exercise once, it takes you ten minutes with Feedburner and RSS Submit …
Doing this means that at least when your stumbling for fun, your still pinging directories in the background, gaining subscribers who will then see your pages when you review them!
You can generate a lot of traffic easily from StumbleUpon by making friends and stumbling some of your own pages, but make sure you stumble other peoples sites too to get the most from it.
Stumbling is well worthwhile, it can drive traffic to your sites, it’s fun and relaxing in between writing posts and articles and also … it’s a great source of ideas for your own blog posts … I’ve seen loads of humorous stuff that has inspired posts in me …
So if you don’t already, start stumbling … and if you’re already a stumbler, make sure to burn your feed ! … and finally … Please Thumbs Up and Review my posts if you like them!!!!!!!!
