Whether or not you’re relying on Adsense or Affiliate marketing, or indeed your own product to make you money from your blog, you should always look to build an email address list from your traffic at the same time!
A list gives you the opportunity to market to your visitors over and over again. Repeat exposure to your marketing pitch will increase your conversion rates. Relying on your sales pitch to sell the first time a visitor sees your site is not a good idea …
Grab the contact details of your visitors at every opportunity you get, build your list and you’ll build your profits!
So how do you add an opt-in box to your new Wordpress blog?
Adding an Opt-In Box
Some hosting companies provide a list management service that includes code for an opt-in box.
If though, you’re serious about online marketing and list building, you should use a professional service for collecting and managing your email lists, I would recommend Aweber.com the market leaders.
Aweber allow you to build multiple lists within your account, plus you get integrated autoresponders to automate the sending of follow up emails.
When you set up a new list within your account, you get the option to create “wep page” based or “pop-over” based opt-in forms. You can have multiple designs per list. Once you’ve designed the forms, Aweber creates a piece of simple code for you to copy in to your blog pages … the process is really simple …
Once you have your code, you can paste it into one of two places …
Option 1, if you want it to appear within your actual post, simply copy and paste in to the body of your post on the “write post” page. Choose where you want it to appear within your post’s text, and paste it!
Option 2, if you want the opt-in box to appear automatically on every page of your blog, go in to your sidebar options and post the code in to a text box, then place the text box where you would like the opt in box to appear in your sidebar.
It really is that easy!
To increase your opt-in rates to build you list quicker, you need to provide an incentive to your visitors for them to part with their email details … you should therefore offer them a special report or newsletter in return for their sign-up, you can use Aweber to automate the delivery of whatever you decide to give away …
Always give away quality information – that way you’ll ensure you’re new subscribers are eager to read your emails in future, give them rubbish and they’ll unsubscribe from your list and certainly won’t read your follow up emails!
I strongly recommend you get a copy of my FREE “List Building Riches” report below … (yes this is what an embedded Aweber opt-in box looks like on a Wordress blog!), you’ll learn how to master all aspects of the list building process in detail, step by step!
