Chris McNeeny Of Affiliate Project X Fame
Jul 28th, 2008 by admin

This is the fourth post in my 7 part series on “Marketing Gurus That Have Influenced Me” my own online marketing strategies and outlook.
So far I’ve talked about:
- how Corey Rudl introduced me to marketing online and it’s endless possibilities
- how Brad Callen’s SEO Course and Keyword Elite software got me started publishing
- how Martin Franzen taught me the ultimate marketing model
- how Mike Liebner has influenced my SEO tactics
Now it’s time to talk about a fellow Brit, Chris McNeeny, and how he has heavily influenced the way I approach affiliate marketing …
I never bought Chris’s first product “Adwords Miracles”, the first time I came across him was when I every list I was on started bombarding me with emails promoting his Affiliate Project X ebook.
I’d never come across so much hype … I had to buy it!
To this day it was worth every penny … I learn’t so much about writing Affiliate Marketing “sales” pages and Adwords tactics I’d never thought of … I still read it every so often to refresh my mind when I’m about to promote another affiliate product!
His next book, Day Job Killer was good, but for me it was not so “revolutionary” or “contraversial” as Project X. Project X changed the face of Affiliate Marketing … for example …
- how often to you now see Adwords headlines that say “This Product Is Crap, Read Why” or “Don’t Buy Product X” …
Everywhere you look, you see negative Adwords headlines, the result of Project X … it’s a tactic I’ve frequently used … and that’s where it’s now lost some of its juice … everybody uses the same tactic!
One tactic that has earned me quite a bit of cash, is the use of very “targeted” bonuses. For high ticket affiliate products, I always buy them, study them and then try and put together a resource based on the product, a specific strategy that incorporates the product that I then promote as my bonus … the first one I did is my “Keyword Elite Master Plan“, that details exactly how I use Keyword Elite … it’s a damn good bonus even if I do say so myself!
I’ve not bought anymore of Chris’s products since I was slightly disappointed by Day Job Killer, and think that at the rate he was pumping out new products, they couldn’t be as good as Project X was …
So that’s why I’ve put Chris in my list of 7 Gurus … because of the way Affiliate Project X influenced my affiliate marketing strategy, and because he’s British!!
If you’re trying to make money with affiliate products, you could do a lot worse than to buy Project X, it’s still as good as any ebook on the subject that I’ve read to date …
