It’s my son’s 5th birthday today, so this is going to be a short post as I’ve still got a ton of balloons to blow up!

Joe is one of my inspirations to be a success online, he’s already 5 and his brother is 3. I’d love to be able to devote more time to them. Every time we go out in the car and see another car that looks remotely sporty, he always asks me the same question …

“Is that an Aston Martin dad? When are we getting one?”

How can I disappoint him? I’ve told him that I’m going to be getting an Aston soon, so I can’t let him down! I have to succeed at Internet Marketing, so that I can live my dreams with my boys. That’s how I stay focused on my targets and goals, and why I don’t give up when I don’t get my anticipated results.

That’s one of the reasons why I’ve written over 7,000 words on this blog in the last 7 days! The first of those posts includes Mike Liebner’s (Article Underground) catchphrase “Words = Money” … well after writing 7,000 words … I hope he’s right!!!

When it comes to blogging, words definitely equal traffic, I’m seeing a steady increase in traffic each week … free traffic!

My biggest problem is time … work and family take up so much of it that I often have to burn the midnight oil to update my blog and work on my other seo stuff … I have no shortage of ideas, but at the moment it’s a case of prioritising and having to put some ideas on the back burner for now … this blog is definitely a priority!

What I really need to start doing is to convert all the posts on my blog into videos and audios to drive even more traffic … that’s one of my next priorities (has been for a while) … along with putting the finishing touches to my next free ebook … “Cut ’N’ Paste Profits” … this free ebook will be over 100 pages of top information, detailing the exact strategy I’m employing on my other niche sites … it’s a strategy anyone can use to succeed … not overnight, but certainly over a few months …

The secret to success in anything in life, is to clearly set your goals … and then want them badly, really, really, badly … live and breathe them everyday! Stay focused and don’t let the latest marketing, get rich overnight email distract you … focus, determination and hard work will bring you online marketing success … eventually!

“Focus and you can achieve anything” … I bet you’ve heard that before … well I believe its true as long as your goals are achievable to begin with!

Why do I believe it, well just take a look at these photos …

I spent the weekend in Wales with the goal of climbing and crossing the most infamous ridge walk in Great Britain … “Crib Goch”.

Now before we go any further, you need to know that I’m pretty nervous when it comes to heights … in fact, when I was a kid I was absolutely terrified of being above ground level. Since those days I’ve tried to keep challenging my fear in an effort to remove it, or at least reduce it! For me, Crib Goch is the ultimate challenge!

Just over 3,000 ft, the Crib leads on to Snowdon, the biggest mountain in Wales … as you can see, what makes Crib Goch scary is the narrowness of the ridge and the sheer drops should you make a mistake … no ropes to assist … you’re just simply reliant on your grip!

This was really a case of “mind over matter!” … on the ascent to the start of the ridge I had a couple of moments when I froze with fear and the heart really raced … it took a ton of focus to keep going up (coupled with the fact that going down looked worse than continuing up!), I literally just had to keep my eyes and mind focused on the couple of square feet in front of me and slowly move on one step at a time … on the occasions I did look down I froze, and then had to refocus on making the next single step … when we eventually reached the other side I was buzzing, and also full of confidence that had replaced the original fear … it was an amazing experience to have pushed myself to such an extreme limit and succeeded …

So what does this have in common with Internet Marketing?

Well quite a lot really …

- you need a clearly defined target to aim for … set yourself an aggressive but achievable goal … say a 12 month earnings target …
- you should have a clearly marked route for getting to your goal … for example, break down your goal into monthly sub targets that will get you to your ultimate goal…
- focus on one small task at a time and don’t get distracted by the bigger picture …
- preparation and training help a lot, but “doing” is a more important part of achieving success …
- keep going and don’t give up however hard it gets, don’t look back … keep going forward …
- if you can, get the help and encouragement of others to help you along …
- if you lose your focus, you’ll fall off and fail to get to your goal …
- challenge yourself and you’ll be amazed at what you can really achieve …
- however hard it gets … never give in!

Clear goals and focus will achieve a lot … stick to the basics in Internet Marketing and the same will apply … publish pages, get links to them and then monetise them … do it over and over again and over time you’ll see your earnings grow …

I’d encourage you to push yourselves in everything you do … both online and off …
