It’s my son’s 5th birthday today, so this is going to be a short post as I’ve still got a ton of balloons to blow up!

Joe is one of my inspirations to be a success online, he’s already 5 and his brother is 3. I’d love to be able to devote more time to them. Every time we go out in the car and see another car that looks remotely sporty, he always asks me the same question …

“Is that an Aston Martin dad? When are we getting one?”

How can I disappoint him? I’ve told him that I’m going to be getting an Aston soon, so I can’t let him down! I have to succeed at Internet Marketing, so that I can live my dreams with my boys. That’s how I stay focused on my targets and goals, and why I don’t give up when I don’t get my anticipated results.

That’s one of the reasons why I’ve written over 7,000 words on this blog in the last 7 days! The first of those posts includes Mike Liebner’s (Article Underground) catchphrase “Words = Money” … well after writing 7,000 words … I hope he’s right!!!

When it comes to blogging, words definitely equal traffic, I’m seeing a steady increase in traffic each week … free traffic!

My biggest problem is time … work and family take up so much of it that I often have to burn the midnight oil to update my blog and work on my other seo stuff … I have no shortage of ideas, but at the moment it’s a case of prioritising and having to put some ideas on the back burner for now … this blog is definitely a priority!

What I really need to start doing is to convert all the posts on my blog into videos and audios to drive even more traffic … that’s one of my next priorities (has been for a while) … along with putting the finishing touches to my next free ebook … “Cut ’N’ Paste Profits” … this free ebook will be over 100 pages of top information, detailing the exact strategy I’m employing on my other niche sites … it’s a strategy anyone can use to succeed … not overnight, but certainly over a few months …

The secret to success in anything in life, is to clearly set your goals … and then want them badly, really, really, badly … live and breathe them everyday! Stay focused and don’t let the latest marketing, get rich overnight email distract you … focus, determination and hard work will bring you online marketing success … eventually!

Like a lot of people I spent a couple of years reading about Internet Marketing before I finally took action and went live on the net with my first site!

I spent a lot of money on ebooks and courses, and aquired a ton of knowledge … but for a long time I did nothing with what I learned! It was only when I bought Keyword Elite that it all changed, it gave me the information I needed to know where to start …

Deciding on a niche is often the hardest part of getting started. In Part 2 of the Getting Started Blueprint I made that decision easier for you … I showed you how to evaluate the potential profitability of any niche quickly … with or without Keyword Elite!

Today we’ll talk about step 3 of the Getting Started Blueprint, choosing a Domain Name!

The blueprint involves creating an income from multiple niche sites … create one niche site, then create another, then another and so on … 10 sites earning just $2 per day would make you $600 per month! 20 sites earning you $5 per day each would make you $36,000 per annum … not too shabby as a part time income … how hard can it be to earn $5 per day on average from a site?

So back to Step 3 …

After reading Step 1 you hopefully got yourself a Hosting Account if you didn’t have one already … preferably one that allows you to host “Multiple sites” on it … if not, take a look at these two hosting accounts Hostmonster or Hostgator … they’re both cheap and make it really easy for you to add a Wordpress blog on to your domains for FREE … I use Hostmonster …

You can buy a domain name via your hosting account (I believe you get one Free for life when you open your Hostmonster account). Before you buy, you need to decide on your niche, then you need to ensure your domain name includes keywords relating to your niche so that the domain is search engine friendly.

Your host will have a domain name search facility so that you can check to see if your preferred domain name is available. If you find it’s not available, simply try other variants until you find one that’s available.

As I said, try and make your domain name as keyword friendly as possible, plus try and make it catchy so that your visitors remember it easily.

For example, if you choose a niche on say Fly Fishing … you would look for a domain name such as:

flyfishingtips.com or flyfishingsecrets.com flyfishingguide.com

They would be good names for your site … they’re keyword rich and tell your potential visitor that they’ll learn some great information about the subject they’re interested in …

Don’t just choose the first name that you find available, taking a bit of extra time researching could pay dividends … after all, you’re going to be stuck with it for a long time to come, and the name you choose will effectively brand your site!

I guess most people who try their luck at internet marketing feel that it’s a real uphill struggle at some point, for many the peak never arrives …

The image above says it all, how many of us feel like we’re constantly climbing in circles … constantly facing an uphill challenge but not actually going anywahere?

I had an email from a guy in Northern Ireland a couple of days ago, it really rang home with me, it said something along the following lines …

“I’ve been reading lots of ebooks over the last couple of years on internet marketing and now I want to prove to my more than sceptical wife that I can make money online … I just want to make a single pound to show her she is wrong … how do I make a pound quickly … ?”

Does that not sound familiar? My wife is still sceptical even though I’ve made a lot more than just a pound!

My general advice would be …

“YOU NEED TO TAKE ACTION” and “YOU NEED A PLAN TO WORK TO”

You can read as many ebooks as you can afford, but unless you actually publish a page or place an ad online, you’ll never make any money … guaranteed!

It was only after I bought Keyword Elite, that I actually took the plunge and created my first web pages specifically for the purpose of making affiliate earnings and Adsense revenues …

As Mike Liebner of Article Underground fame says …

WORDS = MONEY

The more pages you publish, the more opportunity there is for people to find your offers … plus publish in different places … don’t just stick to adding content to your own web site … use article directories and web 2.0 sites, again the more places you publish, the more opportunities there are for people to find you!

Secondly, you need a PLAN. If you don’t put a blueprint together outlining your strategy, you’ll never progress in a straight line, you’ll always be going around in a circle like the guy in the image above … Why? Because every time you see a new idea you’ll get distracted and give it a try … we’re all guilty, we all crave something that will make us rich overnight!

Draw up a plan and go for it 100%. There are lots of different ways to make money online … tomorrow I’ll give you a simple blueprint to work to … if you can’t wait until then, get a copy of “How To Be A Happy Bunny” below … it will show you how to get started!

Bottom Line … stop reading every email you receive and every ebook you see … instead get started publishing today … don’t put it off …

I hadn’t planned on writing this post … but as it’s funny I have … I’m literally under siege in my own home! Crows are attacking my windows!!!

With day break the attacks commence … tap bloody tap on my windows at 5.00am in the morning … Aaaaaaaaaargh!

There’s a small gang of them … they take it in turns … attack attack attack … I’m sure they’re going to come through the glass!

I’ve shouted at them … banged on the window … I’ve even put the scariest looking teddy bear I can find up against the glass to scare them … BUT THEY JUST KEEP ON PECKING!

Please HELP! How can I stop them? I need your ideas …

Well I certainly do!

My quest to be an internet marketing millionaire started out one lunchtime several years ago when I was having a bad day at the office … I pulled up Google on my screen and typed in a search for “how to become a millionaire” …

I was surprised how many sites were returned, this was where I was to discover internet marketing!

The site that really caught my attention was the Internet Marketing Centre. I was blown away by the site. The owner, the late and legendary Corey Rudl claimed to have built an online income of $64 million … this was staggering!

I was so impressed by Corey’s site that I made my first online purchase … it took several days to pluck up the courage to spend $179 on a course … but I’m so glad that I did … that course changed my life forever, it introduced me to affiliate marketing, autoresponders and email marketing … all of which I had never heard of …

Since then I’ve bought a couple more products from the IMC, and regularly read Derek Gehl’s newsletters and blog … in particular his last article on how to turn $200 per month into $1,000 per month was interesting … simply replicate the $200 site five times! I totally agree with him, building multiple sites is what I would recommend to anyone … and in forthcoming posts, I’ll share with you how I go about it !

So that’s how I started on my quest to become an online millionaire … I searched Google for instructions on how to make a million dollars, and found Cory Rudl who became my inspiration!

Well the rain has hit Gloucestershire again … I’ve spent the last few days filling sand bags rather than writing blog posts! So far the house is dry, but heavy rain is forecast for the next four days … deep joy!

One thing I did sign up for online the other week is Google Alerts … a great tool that is FREE … I signed up so that I could keep track of where my articles are being posted and where comments are being made about them or my sites … the main reason I want to know that information is so that I can promote those sites as well as my own …

Basically you type the keywords you want to be tracked, and Google then alerts you by email every time it indexes a page that includes one of those keywords on it … for my purposes my keywords are my name and web site name …

Now here is an added benefit of getting this information … I can now see when someone uses one of my articles but changes the link to their own affiliate link instead of displaying my link as they’re supposed to do … I’ve found this a couple of times in just a few days … so the owners of those sites are getting some non-friendly emails off me …!

I suggest you sign up for Google Alerts if you haven’t already, it’s a great way to track your presence over the web … and its free to use …

Anyway, that’s it for today … it’s back to the sand bags now and flood patrol!

Well, it was a late night last night, I had my online business partner round last night, and we spent several hours burning the midnight oil, finalising our plans for the launch of our new project. The creative juices were flowing, and as a result I’m really buzzing today, despite the late night!

It just goes to show that to a large extent tiredness is controlled by the mind rather than the body. Do something you’re not interested in and you’ll find you always feel tired. Yet do something that excites and interests the mind and that tired feeling disappears!

Whenever I get in front of the computer and start working on anything internet marketing related, the energy rushes back through my body! Regardless of how long the day at work has been, or how long it has taken to get the kids to bed, internet marketing gives me a huge buzz. Even when I turn the computer off, I lay for hours running through ideas in my head, then the next day when I wake up the ideas are evaluated again.

When you do something you enjoy, you simply don’t feel tired! So I guess the lesson is that if you need a lot of sleep or you’re constantly feeling tired, you’re not happy and need to change your life and find some stimulation!

Applying that to Internet Marketing, you need to be interested in the niche or niches you choose to market in. You’ll never post to a blog every day if you’re not interested in the subject. That said it doesn’t need to be your passion, it just needs to be interesting, I’m happy to feel passionate about the dollars that arrive in my Clickbank and Google accounts!

Anyway, pack to last night. The plans for the project are now in place and we’ve given each task a timeline for completion. Hopefully by next week the first blocks will be in place and you’ll get to see my new ebooks, one of which will be given away free and you’ll be able to make money from it … It will be one of the best free resources on the net …

Firstly, have you decided on your Mission Statement for 2008 yet, and have you started repeating it to yourself? (see yesterday’s post)

Most people rack their brains trying to come up with a great new idea to make them a millionaire. Most of these people never make a million and never come up with that once elusive idea that could change their lives.

What they fail to realise is that most people who become millionaires don’t actually come up with new inventions or totally new services. What they do is make something that already exists, or provide an existing service … BUT … they do it better and bigger than others who do the same but fail to make a lot of money.

So as the New Year gets going, take some time to think about your entrepreneurial ambitions.

Are you beating yourself up trying to come up with totally new product or service ideas? If you are, don’t spend to much time on it.

Instead look at what is successful for others already. Then think up 20 ways you can improve on what they are doing. Look at your competitors, what are they doing that you’re not? How can you improve on their:

- Product
- Price
- Service
- Marketing

If you can copy what someone else is doing, and do one of these areas better, you have an immediate competitive advantage that you can heavily promote. Just a 10% improvement in one area will give you a significant advantage.

In fact why not take the time to study your existing business and see what you can improve for 2008. What could you do 10% better than you’re already doing? Think of the areas above? Again think up 20 ways of doing things differently.

It’s often difficult to come up with 20 different ways, but trying to think of the last few will often have you thinking out of the box, and that’s when you may come up with a golden nugget!

One final piece of advice. When looking at your business products and tasks, consider which actually contribute the most to your profits. Use the 80 – 20 rule. Often you’ll find that 20% of the things you do or 20% of your products create 80% of your profits … if you can think of ways of improving these products and activities by 10%, you’ll have a much bigger impact on your profits … 10% of 80% is a lot more than 10% of 20%!

So take some time out and stand back from your daily activities, analyse your business as above, or if you haven’t started a business yet, analyse someone else’s … I did just that before Christmas and that’s when I realised that I needed to focus on list building and do that a lot better, which led to my mission statement for 2008, and to the current project I’m working on right now … I got so many new ideas from completing the exercise.

Well 2008 is well and truly upon us, happy new year to everyone. I’ve made time to think about what I want to achieve in 2008, have you? One thing I think is really important is to pull all of your goals and objectives into an overriding mission statement.

Your mission statement serves several purposes. Firstly it should keep you keenly focused on what you’re trying to achieve, and secondly it should be used as a mantra for you to repeat regularly to yourself to re-enforce your inner belief that you can achieve the goals you’re setting yourself.

Your mission statement should re-enforce:

- What you want to achieve
- Your timeline for success
- How you’re going to do it

For example, here’s my mission statement for 2008:

To build a list of 100,000 subscribers within 12 months using the traffic & list building methods I’ve already learnt!

Its straight forward and clearly defined, it will keep me focused on my prime task through 2008, that of list building. If there is one thing above all else that I discovered in 2007, it’s the value of owning your own list or lists, and it’s the one thing I did poorly.

2008 will be different, list building will be my prime goal. I know that if I own a list of 100,000 email addresses by the end of 2008, I’ll be well on my way to achieving my overall goal of earning $1 million by my 40th birthday!

I’ve put together a detailed list building plan that I’ll be sharing with my readers and current list members for FREE in the next couple of weeks, I genuinely believe it will be one of the best free resources available on the web today.

I’ll be repeating my mission statement to myself every single day. I firmly believe that I will achieve it. Everything I do online will be in support of my 2008 Mission Statement.

So what’s your mission in 2008? Once you know what your life goals are, work how far you can go in 2008 to achieving those goals and formulate a statement around that achievement. Once you have your statement, read it and repeat it every day! It will keep you focused so that you don’t stray off track, which is so easy to do with all the distractions we get every day.

I strongly recommend you keep an eye on my blog over the next few days and get yourself a copy of my free list building ebook that I’ll be making available shortly, I’m sure you’ll be blown away by it and you’ll see why I believe my mission is so achievable!

Following on from my last post on the “Law of Attraction”, what’s your dream in life? Mine is to own a new Aston Martin, I look at the photo most days and dream of driving it out of the showroom …

I also dream of paying off my mortgage and having the freedom to do what I want in life when I want to … don’t get me wrong, life could be much worse than it is now, I’m already very lucky in life … I’ve got a lovely wife, 2 great boys, a nice cottage (now it’s dried out after the floods) in the country, a well paid job and most importantly, we’re all healthy …

BUT

… there are many mornings when I don’t want to get out of bed but have too, there are many days in corporate life when I have to do things that are a complete waste of time … ideally I’d like to invest my time in something more rewarding, and of course I’d like an Aston Martin

I love fast cars, I’ve got a new Golf GTi which is a fantastic drive, BUT I’ve always dreamed of owning an Aston … I regularly browse through the Aston Martin brochure, and drive past the showroom at every opportunity, all to re-enforce my dream … in line with the Law of Attraction, the more you re-enforce a dream in your mind the more likely it is to become reality … what’s really crucial is that because of the re-enforcement of the dream, I now know deep down that I will own one in the not too distant future … I will live my dream …

As well as the dream, the constant re-enforcement and inner belief, I also have goals and plans to get me there, and I’m taking action to achieve them. Early in the new year, I’ll reveal what my plans and current project are, but for now lets talk about achieving your dreams …

First of all, what are your personal dreams? If you suddenly won the lottery, what would you rush out and spend it on? A new house, a new car or boat, diamonds or perhaps a mistress or two ?

If you want to change your life you have to have dreams, dreams that you really want to achieve. Everything I do in the evenings and weekends is driven by my burning desire to achieve my dreams.

Dream Big … the bigger your dream, the bigger your ideas and actions will be, even if you fall short of achieving your dream, you’ll achieve more than if you set just small goals. As soon as your goal is bigger, your mind focuses on ways of achieving it, and automatically starts thinking of ideas that you’d never have come up with if faced with only a small challenge to overcome …

Once you’ve defined your dreams, write them down and keep them close at all times, read them every day. Find pictures of objects in your dreams and post them in places where you spend a lot of time, looking regularly at the pictures will help you visualise your dreams much more clearly. The clearer your visions the more you’ll attract the things you visualise into your reality.

Well what a summer that was! No sooner had I returned with the family from my holiday in the Algarve, than I found myself staring at water pouring through my house a few days later!

July 20th 2007 is a date I’ll never forget! I was called at work to be told that water was entering my house, an hour and a half later I arrived home to find three feet of water gushing up to my back door.

I had never seen rain like it, and I hope I never will again. Living half way up a Cotswold hill I never in my wildest dreams ever expected to see my house flooded.

We had to move out, with 2 young children, there was no way we could live in the house. The accomodation we found was very small, but comfortable, and could have been a lot worse.

BUT it didn’t have internet access, and so I’ve effectively been offline since July in terms of my Internet Marketing activities, which has been incredibly frustrating! Especially as I was earning over $100 per day at the time, having started from scratch in January … I was really hopeful of achieving my $500 per day online marketing income goal!

Well I’m back now, but because of my inactivity online my earnings have dropped off. But from every setback an opportunity appears!

I’ve used the time off line to reflect on what I’ve acheived and learnt so far, and also to do a lot more research. I now feel really confident that over the next few months I will achieve my $500 per day goal, and in fact I’m confident that by my 40th birthday in April 2009, I will have made my first million dollars online!

I’ve been putting together a new ebook that details everything I will be doing over the next few months, a step by step guide based on my achievements so far, my mistakes and my new found research. It will be much better than my first ebook, the Keyword Elite Master Plan, which has received some excellent and touching reviews …

Still more on my plans and ideas in my next post … its so good to be back online …
